The Difference Between Whining and Bitching
by Holden Shearer
It's whining if you can change it yourself.
It's bitching if it's out of your power** to affect it.
Bitching reduces stress,
and is a good way to get a sympathic ear, without the
operative word being "pathetic." Whining causes stress in the long run.
**(powerless to go out, and change things
themselves, without sacrificing their whole livelihood, or without going
to another country, or expending a ludicrous amout of effort (ie,
getting voted into congress, making it to the house of representatives,
and changing it from there) )
