My journey to Heartless Bitch has been rife with detours. I've been
shamelessly smitten with guys I knew wouldn't respect me. I've stood too
many times in the back of the room, afraid to be seen. I've had bouts of
self-pity that would send any self-respecting Bitch into a fit of
uncontrollable laughter.
I've finally realized that taking what I need is not wrong and standing
up for myself is a necessity. I honor those who honor me and simply
dismiss the rest. People who play mind games, display passive aggressive
tendencies or manipulate are quickly chucked. I don't rely on others to
dictate my worth or influence my self-esteem. I make my own way in this
world.
I've also learned that I'm quite adept at staring down even the burliest
of men, should the need arise.
