I've seen too many people screw up their lives because they buy into the codependent view of romance advocated by the media and those who lack the fortitude to stick up for themselves. I think that if you're with a person because you "need" them, what you need is to stay away from relationships and focus on getting yourself together.

All too often, people use mind games in relationships to hide from themselves, and I refuse to play those kinds of games anymore. I've been given the "bitch" label many times, but I refuse to be a hypocrite who sacrifices their principles to go with the general flow of society. If someone likes me, fine, but if they don't, I don't lose sleep over it.
