I respect others out of courtesy until they prove that respect
misdirected, at which point they have indicated that they are not worth
my attention. I make my confrontations opportunities to share and
influence rather than to denigrate. Having experienced a childhood of
serious illness, I strive to cultivate the courage and tenacity to keep
fighting against what can seem hopeless circumstances, and the good
sense to know when to walk away from lost causes (like people who won't
help themselves.)
To me, being a heartless bitch is about respect for yourself and others,
courage to challenge ideas when necessary, and not compromising your
values and voice just to keep the peace. The only way to change the
world is be an example of the change you want, and I want to be part of
a world where success is based on merit, not gender, ethnicity,
religion, or bullshit.
