A few lessons I've learned so far:
As far as I know, I only have the one life to lead; therefore I intend to experience every moment of it and regret nothing. It is up to me to choose to feel guilt or regret, not up to the people surrounding me.
I will not let myself be taken in by popular culture, nor will I stoop to their level and denigrate those who chose to enmesh themselves in the trivial. It is entirely their choice to be small minded and petty.
After trying for years to help "needy" friends I have come to the conclusion I have done enough charity work and that no one can help them until they chose to change themselves and take full responsibility for their own lives.
As long as you're alive, you've still got more to learn. No one has all the answers and anyone who claims to has ulterior motives.
