Jeanne-lilith
I'm a Heartless Bitch because time is too precious for me to spend
endless minutes or hours of it endlessly explaining everything to the
lowest common denominator for those who are lazy, foolish, ignorant, or
clueless. Life is too short for me to pamper the egos of those who are
trained to believe in their own arrogant and self-righteous, yet totally
un-earned, entitlement. I am too busy loving my (non-spoiled,
independent, self-sufficient, spirited) children, enjoying the company
of my (delightful, witty, sexy) boyfriends, laughing with my
(intelligent, fun-loving, mouthy) friends, catering to my (needy &
spoiled) cat, and otherwise living my (terrific) life. I don't have much
appreciation for diplomacy, as I'm given to understand that diplomacy is
"an agreement to be mutually full of shit," and while I attempt tact now
and then, there has to be a pretty compelling reason for me to make the
time for it.
One of the compliments I'm proudest of, which I definitely believe
exemplifies Heartless Bitchiness, was being told by a friend, "Some of
the best things about you are your ability and willingness to write
straight from the gut, to say exactly what's on your mind and in your
heart, not to mince words, and above all to question yourself right
there in front of everybody and call yourself on your own bullshit when
necessary." It was simply the truth, and I'm the first to admit when I'm
wrong--but since I choose my battles carefully, I'm not wrong very
often.
All the people I love frequently hear many variations of the following statements from me:
- You are one of my best friends.
- You are a terrific kid.
- Can I help you with that?
- What can I do to help make it better?
- That's a fantastic accomplishment!
- Thank you.
- You're wonderful.
- You are so precious to me.
- I love you.
But they also hear many of these following statements from me:
- Do it yourself.
- If you want help, don't pitch a fit--ask for help.
- That's not my responsibility.
- You can handle it.
- If you want it done other than the way I'm doing it, you do it.
- Don't pull that shit with me.
- I won't bail you out from the consequences of your actions.
- No.
- FUCK THAT.
And my all time favorite:
- If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!
