Although I will console a friend after a break up, (that's what
friends are for after all) there is a point when you have to tell her that
obviously he wasn't that great, and that moaning about him is a waste of time if
you haven't learnt anything from the experience.
Hold your head up high. You are a woman, not an idiot. You don't need a man
to reaffirm your place in this society. Learn to love yourself, face your fears
and solve your insecurities without a crutch.
I didn't get my first boyfriend till I was 19. I was in no hurry to find
myself a partner for appearance's sake. I'm not fussy, but I know what I want in
a boyfriend who is an equal to me. I will not put myself down to make him feel
better about himself. And I'm not going to find myself an idiot to make me feel
superior. No point being in a relationship if your partner can't converse
intellectually and exercise the brain cells God gave him in a way to challenge
your own thoughts and ideas.
And damned if I'm going to let me being a girl get in the way of playing
violent online games with friends. I don't treat them any different, I ask the
same of them. If they think I'm going to go cry every time they kill me, then
they are sadly deluded. Computers and online gaming are no longer just a guy's
arena. Fear the gamer chick packing heat. (I mean in the figurative sense. Lord
knows there are enough idiots toting guns about the place.)
