I refuse to conform to society's view of what a woman should be. I will not starve myself or have my body cut up to satisfy someone else's idea of beauty, I will not hide my intelligence, and I will not be a doormat for anybody. My life has not been easy but I won't let that stand in the way of being the best I can be and I won't accept it as an excuse from others either. You can't change the past but you can change the present and future. I don't demand pity or understanding but I do demand respect and if someone can't handle that, then that is their problem.
