I become irritated with people who call me a "bitch" because I have a
brain and am not afraid to use it. I'm not going to agree with you
because another loudmouth idiot does. If you say something ignorant in
my presence, you WILL be informed of that fact. When someone doesn't
like me, I'd love it if they would just tell me when we meet; save both
of us from gratuitous smiling and bullshitting. I upset my best friend
and wasn't aware of it for a good 4 months because of her
"non-confrontational" personality. I hate that crap. Problems that could
have been fixed weren't, because in essence she was too scared to talk
to me about it and ignored me. So now I'm out of a best friend. I'm
up-front with people, whether I like them or not. Why be fake? Why waste
time? I am tired of being told that being a "bitch" or "feminist" has
some correlation to man-hating. Sorry, but men have nothing to do with
my self-assurity or demand for respect. And as a black woman, I am so
tired of (some) black men especially being too scared to have an
intelligent conversation with me, because of their fixation on material
shit. I am too opinionated. Whether or not it's a good or bad thing, I'm
not sure of yet. I love who I am and refuse to change any part of my
mind or body to make someone else feel more comfortable.
