I am the fearless woman my own mother warned me about, dancing to the beat of my own feral drums. In the great words of Emma Goldman, "If I can't dance, I don't want to be part of your revolution." I thank the Goddesses within me that the first word I learned to say was "NO." I embrace my singledom and choose my many friends as my significant "others" rather than be eclipsed by an all-consuming relationship with anyone who is anything less than perfect for me. At least when I go to bed alone, I am always in love with the one whom I wake up with in the morning. Take me or leave me for who I am, and never confuse my singledom with loneliness. I am alone, but not lonely. After having banged my head on the glass ceiling one too many times for pushing the envelope and raising the bar, I chose to start my own business. I learned quickly that the best way to predict my own future was to create it, and have celebrated the best revenge with my overwhelming personal and professional success. I do not need a candle to light the darkness, I am a woman who glows in the dark, and the illumination can be blinding. So, I say, "Put on your sunglasses, dance with me, and hold on for the ride of your life. If you're not ready for that, there's the door. Don't let it hit you in the ass on your way out."
