1. I believe that everyone regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, or race deserves to be treated with dignity.

2. I believe that myths regarding gender roles need to be debunked at every opportunity.

3. I believe in personal accountability.

4. I believe that there is more strength in recognizing a dissenting opinion than in forcing others to acquiesce.

5. I've pursued careers in "gendered" fields and have expended energy trying to overcome gender barriers - for my own personal gratification.

6. I believe that being well educated, well informed, and well read is the greatest aphrodisiac.

7. I find the term "Heartless Bitch" to be ironic. Recently I've had it applied to me when I was "telling it like it is," or "being a go-getter." I'm pretty confident that I would have had those aforementioned "positive labels" applied to me had I been a guy. However, since I'm a woman and I'm supposed to be nurturing, receptive, and passive I've been labeled a Heartless Bitch. Obviously being a Heartless Bitch has come to be synonymous with a woman who is independent, aggressive, or opinionated. In other words being a Heartless Bitch is to be a contributing human.
