I often get surprised by the number of people who say they are --of course!-- for equal rights, but hate feminism or feminists, and those who look at the extreme radical feminists and claim that feminism is a man-hating, man-fighting ideology. For me, feminism is about acknowledging the lack of balance in our society, and making things right. This implies equal rights, which most claim they are for, and most of those think we've got.

I'll be a Heartless Bitch, regardless of membership, as long as it takes before people are valued for merit, personal qualities and skill, opposed to gender biases. A woman is NOT by default a better single parent than a man. A man is NOT necessarily a better president (and from example... I rest my case!).

I am a Heartless Bitch because I never pretend to be less than I am. At the same time, I won't allow myself to "outshine" others. Everybody has the right to be acknowledged for ALL their abilities and qualities. Sadly, some even pretend not to have the qualities they possess.
