Men don't perpetuate sexism on their own. Small-minded, petty, back-stabbing, preening women encourage them.
It shits me when "technical women" post "please remove me" posts to mailing lists instead of unsubscribing the way they subscribed. It shits me that women who don't know me have the audacity to accuse me of being a sell-out to the "cause" (which cause? I have none but my own). Oh, and would the idiots who somehow managed to pass their driving tests please learn how to read traffic signs such as "keep left unless overtaking!"
I work hard, I don't tolerate bullshit be it from my peers or my management. I count my few good friends as being far more valuable than the hundreds of acquaintances I will make during my lifetime. Just because I've learnt how to compromise doesn't mean I've learnt how to betray what I believe in. What do I believe in? Treating people fairly. I believe in being polite. This does NOT mean I respect you, fancy you, or will grant you any type of favour. I believe in my right to be whomever I want to be and believe whatever I want to believe. I also believe I'm fortunate because I live in a society where I can be a Heartless Bitch and that it's my duty to be so on behalf of all those who, due to circumstance, are unable to.
