and Damned Proud of it!

Catherine

I have no time for those people (of either sex) who think they can have it both ways in the so-called "sexual revolution." This goes for women who complain about a lack of respect and equality, yet simper and demand special rules and treatment "because we're girls." It goes equally for those men who want to enjoy the benefits of women's earning power and sexual freedom without giving up the perks of the past. If you want me to pay half of the rent, you can damn well vacuum half of the carpet!

I don't see why "boys" should become "men" somewhere between 18 and 25, while "girls" remain "girls" until middle age. "Woman" is not a dirty word -- I refuse to follow the popular evasion of always saying "girl" or "lady" instead.

I fully agree with many feminist thinkers that women are underrepresented in most technical and high paying fields. However, instead of doing a degree in gender studies and writing papers to whine about the situation and demand that someone else do something to fix it, I became a software engineer.
