I spent most of my time growing up learning that the only way to enjoy life was to please other people. After leaving home and never looking back, I then learned that going through life being a "people-pleaser" sure as hell wasn't going to cut it. It took time, but I learned the power of assertiveness, saying "no" and really meaning it, and dealing with things the way I want. I am a Heartless Bitch because I learned early that only way to get through life happy (or at the least content) is by Being In Total Control, Honey of your own life.

It really burns me up when I see women and men my age whine and moan and bitch about "needing somebody" and "not feeling complete" without another human being to screw every night. It is a truly pathetic sight to watch stereotypical sorority chicks and sunlight-deprived geeks pine away at their singleness and wonder why I am not joining their pity parties. I am an solitary-minded person who doesn't need anyone to determine her worth. Whenever I am ready to allow someone else inside my well-guarded heart, I will. I am very, very glad that I learned this lesson at a young age.
