Peggy
I have earned the nickname "Bossy Boots" by putting the truth, as I see it, above the need to be a peacemaker. While standing at the graves of Thoreau and Emerson, I took a vow of independence.
After two months of college, I was placed on "disciplinary probation" for breaking the school rules against the use of alcohol. (Hey, a beer is a beer...) So I guess it's a good thing they didn't catch me when I was playing poker in the men's dorm (off limits in those days). I took the hint and moved on to Vanderbilt.
For twenty years I taught high school English in inner-city schools. After I gave sworn testimony against the executive principal before the local board of education, I was branded a "troublemaker" by that administrator in the Nashville daily newspaper. It was my finest hour.
Currently, my out-spokenness has earned me the tribute of "Bitch" at the Deepak Chopra Forum. On my coffee table are books by Ann Richards, Molly Ivins, Naomi Wolf and Elizabeth Wurtzel. I am in the early stages of collaboration on a book about strong and funny older women.
Two of my granddaughters are bitches-in-training (ages ten and twelve). The younger one spent some of her birthday money last month to buy me two books on Rosa Parks because she knows that Mrs. Parks is my hero for using her "bitchiness" to set some people straight.
I haven't read the link to the suggestions on how to get my application accepted. If this isn't good enough, I will tell you more about me and send references. ;-)
Yes! I want to read more from Real Life Heartless Bitches
