I BELIEVE
Women (most women) have the ability to make responsible choices concerning themselves their children and their direction in life.
I am a Heartless Bitch because I believe that every woman should have an
opportunity to choose what they want in terms of their sexual
preference, employment, family and education, and bollocks to those who
feel as though it's their right to judge those choices.
I think women are entitled to equality (this does not mean that I think
all women should be the same, by the way.)
I believe in the value of all women's Paid or UNPAID work.
I believe that all women and their children have the right to live
without fear of violence and oppression.
I believe all women have the right to economic security and the
opportunity to provide the basic needs for themselves and their
families.
I support all actions intended to ensure a workplace free of sexism and sexual harassment.
-All action enabling women to have equal opportunities to work at any trade or profession.
-All action to ensure equal access to reasonably priced, quality daycare.
I do this by living my politics, and by not simply getting caught up in
the rhetoric. I don't confuse myself with other people's opinions about
what I do and what I say. I recognize that I am fallible and sometimes I
make mistakes. I admit them when I do. I encourage women to hold their
heads high no matter what they are pursuing in life. I don't care if you
are a sex worker or a pastor as long as you are down with the cause.
I no longer will unconsciously accept a role forced on me by a society
that unquestioningly accepts white male privilege, but I also recognize
that men are not solely to blame for the roles we play. I am humbled
everyday by the legacy left by the women who walked before me and
eternally grateful that they began the struggle. I know that just
because I love women doesn't mean I am a dyke. I know that pro-choice
does not necessarily mean pro-abortion. I am proud of who I am my
intelligence and tenacity.
If this makes me a Heartless Bitch...that is just fine by me.
