I am a Heartless Bitch because of my grandmother. She always made it a rule to demonstrate to me the value of living firmly by my own convictions and beliefs, calmly and politely when possible, loudly and aggressively when not. She taught me to expect the best from myself and all around me, and not to settle for anything less, because I deserve the best. She has been gone for nine years; everyday I strive to meet the standards I know she would expect me to set for myself.

Life was not easy for Grandma and it hasn't been easy for me, but there is always a way to accomplish your goal if you just shut up and do it. I do not tolerate whining, not from myself, not from my kids, and most definitely not from my husband. I work in a truck stop; truckers like to flirt. Flirting bores me. I therefore have a bit of a reputation for being a stuck-up bitch, but the way I see it, if you're interested in someone, for the love of God, strike up an intelligent conversation instead of trying to play silly-ass games. It saves time.
