and Damned Proud of it!

The reason I'm a Heartless Bitch is really quite pragmatic. To maintain my dignity while working in a male-dominated field like journalism, I have to be. To be a self-respecting woman in a world that's prone to treat us like infants who can't make decisions for ourselves, it is a requirement. I am intolerant of whiny, Christian male reporters and editors who glorify freaky anti-abortion protesters and turn men accused of sexual harassment into folk heroes. I like to seek out other Heartless Bitches and give them the press they deserve. I try and give the publications I write for a TRUE sense of balance, which often requires that I point out to editors that they are, in fact, ignorant boneheads. I don't pretend that men are interesting when they talk about their workout regimen, treat football like a religion or (especially) pretend to be sympathetic and sensitive to "women's plight" or feminism when it's obvious they're just looking to get laid. I don't abandon my girlfriends to talk to a man unless they're boring the shit of me with endless discussions about other men or hair conditioning techniques.

Yes! I want to read more from Real Life Heartless Bitches
