I've read over your Manifesto, and I already live my life according to
it without even realizing it.
I really can't stand people who always
complain, but never do a thing to help themselves. I also can't
understand people who feel that a bad relationship with a man is
better than none at all. In my opinion, a woman (or man) who doesn't
get out of the bad situation she (or he) is in deserves to be in that
situation.
One thing I learned early in life was that I had to stand on my own
two feet. After all, who can I trust more than myself? It doesn't
mean being selfish; it means not being needy. It means standing
up for my rights and my opinions, and if that makes me a bitch,
then I'm proud to be one.
I always speak my mind frankly, and I don't care what people say about
me. Some people say I should mince words to spare feelings, but I
can't do that. To cater to everyone's whims and egos is to compromise
myself and my esteem. I am what I am. To hell with everyone else.
If you can't accept me for what I am and you expect me to change for
you, then you'd better turn around and walk out my door, cuz there's
about a toad's chance on the freeway of THAT happening!
Finally, I believe women should have all the chances that men have.
Being a female Engineering student in Montreal, this is always brought
home to me every year on Dec. 6 - the anniversary of the day Marc
Lepine killed 14 women and injured several others at Ecole
Polytechnique just for being in Engineering and daring to take on a
men's world.
It's a never ending fight against those who want to turn this into a
"senseless tragedy" (please! The man knew what he was doing. It's
even in his suicide note.) and use the event to remember abused
and victimized women in horrible relationships or who are raped off
the streets. This is NOT just about that. This is about one
man who tried to bully women in general just because they
wanted to make something of themselves! In his opinion, women should
revert back to the 1950's whitebread housewife image who lived to cook
and clean. If we should celebrate anything, we should celebrate
those women who are going into male-dominant fields and kicking some
collective ass there.
This is definitely a cause that Heartless Bitches International should
take up.
Yes! I want to read more from Real Life Heartless Bitches
