Me a Heartless Bitch? I'll give you a few examples.
At my summer job as a lab technician, another new chemist there thought
that all women in the lab (including those who outranked him in
seniority and education) were there to clean his instruments, get him
soda, etc. Pretty soon, he tried this on me. He asked me to stop what I
was doing for my boss and get a bucket for him, when he was standing
right next to them. He actually said, "But don't you work for me?" He
was arrogant enough to assume that all women work for Him. As I did not
in any way, I replied "No, I work for (my boss), get your bucket
yourself".
I got all the other women in the lab to stand up to him (he
was trying this stuff on everyone) and by the end of the summer one of
the female chemists talked to the head of the lab about it and the guy
got severely reprimanded and almost lost his job. He tried to guilt ME
about it and I told him he should've watched what he said in the first
place.
I dumped my own Himbo, who thought he was hotter than he was,
when he decided that I didn't care about him if I didn't dump my plans
with friends at a moment's notice so I could go someplace with him. He
tried to get me back by pouting whenever I was around with our group of
mutual friends. He wasn't even good at it, my gal friends told me
whenever I wasn't looking he acted like his usual self. The saddest part
is that he, like many men who write to your site, had no clue that he
was manipulative and controlling.
My own mother tried to tell me I "blew
my chance at getting married out of college", but I say it's better to
be alone than to wish you were.
