I feel as if I've been around every block, hoed every hard row and graduated summa cum laude from the school of hard knocks. It took a good long while to wise up, and unfortunately I lost tons of "me-ness" in the process. Thank (insert whatever deity you prefer) that women seem to be getting smarter earlier these days. Everyone has to make their own mistakes but hopefully some of the lessons of the past won't have to be repeated by anyone ever. For the longest time I thought there was something wrong with me because anymore I simply will not tolerate: sloppiness, incompetence, rudeness, groveling, insensitivity...where have common sense and common courtesy gone? Some folks, who know me fairly well, have decided I've become "hard, bitter, cynical," to name a few adjectives. And the infamous "you'll never have ANY friends if you act like that!" Like what? You're my friend, aren't you? Isn't this just another take on the "you'll never get a MAN that way" scenario? Right! Now is my time for pulling back, rethinking and redeveloping myself and taking the next step on my journey. And if you don't like it, don't be around me, I don't have the time or energy to deal with it. Your loss, not mine.
