I'm sick of stupid books about how horrible sexism is, which cite lots
and lots of statistics but never tell people what to DO. I'm so angry
that everyone seems to think hating men is the answer to feminism. I
think it's bull. I think sexism is a societal problem that we ALL
contribute to. Spineless women who perpetuate the woman as "weak and
delicate" myth are just as much to blame as vulgar, chauvinistic men.
I'm so happy this page seems to feel the same way. I also put out a zine
about this topic which I'm sure will garner hatred toward me from both
women AND men. Joy! I also delight in making fun of people, often at the
expense of potential friends, and have done zines about these too,
increasing the me-directed hate. The only reason people deem Heartless
Bitches as such is because we actually have a clue. Imagine that.
Here's a quote from BOP magazine:
"Hi Cathee!
I am a true fan of both BOP and BB but have come to notice that your
magazines haven't featured the Spice Girls on the cover.
Many of us feel that this is unfair. The Spice Girls have come a long
way from the start of '97 and have inspired many girls, including myself,
to stand up for what we believe in and accomplish our goals.
They are real people who we can look up to. Spice Girls aren't out
here to be sex symbols, they are out here for the girls. They stick up
for what they believe in and truly show that friendship never ends!
