All my life I have lived around sorry ass men who express themselves through
violent outbursts and abusive language and for years I thought this was normal and
expected all men to be this way. Then I met my best friend Eric. He has shown me that
there are still men out there who know how to love a women and express themselves with
love not anger. And almost all the women would sit there and take it and then cry and
complain about how bad they have it when I could only think why wouldn't they leave. At
the age of 15 I confronted my stepfather and told him I would kill him and he knew I was
telling the truth. I moved in with my grandparents and led a normal but restricted life.
I'm now on my own at college. I am self sufficient and determined to educate myself so
I will never be forced to be dependent upon another person. I take no shit from anyone
and tell people exactly how I feel and expect the others to do the same of me. Be
straight forward and blunt with me and you have won my respect.
