I am a Heartless Bitch because I have always been a Heartless Bitch, but kept smoothing it down and smothering it in the name of what I thought was religion/culture/being nice! It's been a life-long tug of war between being nice and being true. In order to keep things civil, to keep the family together, I accepted life on another person's terms and ended tearing-up what little family life existed. Retrospect is twenty-twenty.
I have finally grown up- or grown down, to a more innocent time, as such occurs in childhood - and now see things clearly, but more importantly witness to them; live them; set boundaries, take risks. I now say no, and live life according to my rules. I make no excuses for failures; I accept my failings, analyze and set them right. I have a duty to be true to honesty and truth, to be true to myself, and most importantly to kick my own arse when it needs kicked.
Heartless Bitches are people/women who do nothing more but stand up for integrity, honesty and courage; who live their lives without blaming others, using crutches and manipulation, lies. That's the creed to which I aspire. It's been a long time coming. And it feels great. And it helps to smile, too.
It would be an honour to be an actual card carrying member of Heartless Bitches International!
