I've been called a Bitch a lot in my life, and I've come to believe that what most people meant when they said that to me was that I refused to be manipulated by their whinging or intimidated by their bullying. I'm a damned good and loyal friend to the people who deserve it by reciprocating and being an equal, and while I'm all for social charity to the poor or those who have had some tough breaks, I don't believe in personal charity to people who want others to prop them up, mother them, or make them feel good about their own laziness and complacency. Besides, the best thing you can do to some people is hit them with a clue-by-four. It'll wake them up or knock them out, and either way, you're not stuck listening to their mewling anymore.
I recently survived a dog mauling by an American bulldog and a pit bull. It was one of the worst things that ever happened to me, and it was one of the best things that ever happened to me. Words can't describe the terror of such an attack, and I was a wreck right after it happened. But now I'm working on getting legislation in my county and at a later date my state passed to protect people from irresponsible dog owners.
I've met so many survivors who were hurt so much worse than I was, and their courage, determination and grit to love life anyway, despite of what happened, is an inspiration to me every day. I have nothing but loathing for the douche bags who let their dogs run loose, but I refuse to let my anger control me. My anger is a weapon, and it has been indispensable in my recovery and progress. No woman should ever be afraid of her anger. It's only destructive when it's misdirected, either outward at the wrong target or inward at herself.
So the douche bags had best beware. They're in my sights, and if they think their "badass" dogs are tenacious, they ain't seen nothin' yet. Love me or hate me, one thing everyone who knows me can agree on. When I set my mind to something, I don't quit until it's done.
