I'm a Heartless Bitch because when I wasn't people walked all over me. Learning to stand up for myself has made me a much happier person and helped me get rid of (and over) the people and things in my life that made me unhappy, including a few Nice Guys and Manipulators.
Along with learning to stand up for myself, I have also begun to value my own independence--I am an adult now (legally at least, as I am still in college and dependent on my parents for tuition) and should act accordingly. I bought my own car at the age of sixteen with money I earned after working my ass off for a year and half (which is more than I can say for many of my classmates). I buy my own clothes, make-up, off-campus meals, gas, and books (except text books), and while that may not seem like a lot (shouldn't everyone be responsible for taking care of their own shit?) I am constantly amazed at how many of my classmates still rely on their parents for basic spending money instead of actually getting a job.
Another reason I am an Heartless Bitch is because as a psychology/sociology major I have seen a lot of evidence that the world (and most of the people in it) doesn't care what is going on in your life and doesn't want to hear you Bitch about it; if something is wrong you need to get up off your as and fix it of sitting around whining.
