... while I have the fleeting thought that I am surrounded by idiots so often on a daily basis that it subtly jackhammers at the back of my brain like a psychotic hummingbird, I'm finally enjoying loud verbal expressions of this sad state of affairs. The new employee who wants to, let's cut to the chase, sabotage my right to make money (because he has jealous in the genes or his mommy didn't breastfeed him or whatever) is now enjoying several firm (and happily delivered) "too fucking bad's" each time he whines on the subject. Or my wishy-washy "boss", who I'm now constantly reminding that she might consider behaving LIKE a boss if she is going to insist on my continuing to allow her the allusion of "managing" me. She is one minute caving in to the aforementioned idiot co-worker's petulance, and then the next straightening her spine in an attempt to not embarrass what smidge of estrogen she has left. I now take great amounts of giddy pleasure when I have to repeatedly put my foot in that. It's like one of those unfortunate situations where the kid is actually the parent taking care of an incapable, lazy or less than mentally astute guardian. It's annoying as hell to be aware of this and as refreshing as hell to remind those who need reminding... loudly... and often. I'm not keeping this to myself anymore. The bleeters at least need to learn how to stay out of my way if they're going to choose to remain intentionally ignorant.
