I refuse to be my mother. All her life, she suffered to make other people happy. Why? Because that is what WOMEN ARE SUPPOSED TO DO, apparently.

I learned (although, much later that I'd like to admit) that I can make myself happy through being "selfish", have fun by being "unladylike", and can speak my mind by being a "Bitch".

That's fine with me.
