I am a heartless bitch because I respect myself. I'm independent enough not to need a relationship, but emotionally secure enough to cherish the one I'm in. I refuse to be mistreated or play the archetype of the helpless 1930's film noir femme. And, unlike those overly dramatic depictions of women, I won't slap someone for making a comment about me. I will simply correct them, smile, walk away, and relish in the fact that I am strong enough to laugh off their ignorance. I have--and will--put people (men and women) in their place if they make a sexist comment or step out of line. I'll try to do it nicely the first time.
I won't be guilted into unwanted relationships, sexual favours, or trusting someone who hasn't earned it. I'm a firm believer in egalitarian romances and the use of logic in aforementioned relationships.
Being a heartless bitch isn't about stepping on other people, or reality TV-style sabotage antics. Its about working hard for what you want, and knowing when to stand up for what you deserve. Its not about demoralizing others; its about self-empowerment. Its not about being arrogant; its about displaying your confidence and intellect as a badge of pride. Its not asserting any inherent superiority or self-entitlement, but recognizing your own self-worth and value. And, more importantly, its about educating people on what being a heartless bitch is about.
