Smiling is
so overrated.
Honestly, it
hurts my muscles to twist my lips into a smile. It takes effort, and I'm a lazy
person when it comes to facial expressions.
This has led many
people to mark me as cold and uninviting the second they meet me. And the more
these people get to know me, the more they get the impression that I'm a Bitch.
In some ways I am a
Bitch. I'm an independent, strong, opinionated feminist - many guys
consider this to be the definition of Bitchy. But if being outspoken about my
opinions is Bitchy, then I guess I want to be called a Bitch. If being a Bitch
means that I'm a woman who knows how to stand up for herself, then it can't be
such a bad thing.
I have had many
experiences with both men and women who are sexist. I can't stand women who
consider themselves incomplete without a man in their lives. I can't stand men
who think feminism has ruined the world. Just the other day a man asked me, "If
you believe in equal rights for women, then I should be able to punch you in the
face, right?" I told him that yes, he could punch me in the face, if he wanted a
kick to the balls in return.
When people piss me
off, I Bitch them out. I only make sarcastic, Bitchy comments to people when
they are annoying me. But I usually respond to ignorance with intelligence. If a
man says to me, "Want to hear a joke? Women's rights," I am going to explain the
entire women's rights movement to him. I am through tolerating sexism from both
genders, and I am never going to be afraid to speak up for myself.
So if all of
these qualities make me a Bitch, then I am happy to be one.
