I used to be a nice girl. Really. That was before the divorce, the firing from a job by an weasel of a boss, realizing my friends were life force vampires and that most of the world was made up of insipid nitwits. I got mad. I got Heartless. I became a Heartless Bitch.

Today I walk with confidence. Do something stupid, and I will tell you it was. Say something silly and weak minded and I will point it out to you. If you lack common sense, you may want to walk on the opposite side of the street. Maybe the next block would be a better idea. I can make men shrink with a single look. Some have had heart attacks after receiving one of my steely stare-downs.

When I was a nice girl, no one could remember my name. Today my name is never forgotten. For that fact my birthday is not passed by, people know how many creamers to put in my coffee and everyone at work seems to realize not to say a word to me until I take off my coat and put down my purse.
