I learned that the story they fed me about how I could be a beautiful artist, meet the man of my dreams and live a fulfilling life as a housewife and mother was a lie. I woke up. Then I stopped blaming "them" for my mistakes and started taking responsibility for my life and myself. Part of that responsibility, in my opinion, includes not being a whiny martyr. I tell the truth even when it shocks others and scares me, as well.
