I do what feels right for me, even when it doesn't make sense to others. I'd rather go with my gut instinct than bend over backwards to make myself more popular. Studying cinema felt right to me, so I did it and I kicked ass in it. Living in Japan for a year felt right to me, so I'm here working my ass off and having a blast. After wasting so much time crying and complaining that life isn't fair, I realized it was my own fault that I let people make me feel bad so many times simply for being myself. I won't apologize for not following hip-hop culture, and I won't explain to anyone why I don't speak fluent Ebonics. I like to read, I like to learn new things, and I demolish everyone and anyone who thinks I have to act a certain way because I happen to be Black AND female.
