I guess I've always been a Heartless Bitch. And by that I mean that I've always had self-respect and no tolerance for assholes - especially sexists. In a time when the backlash against feminism is strong, it's hard to be a fiercely independent woman who doesn't take shit. Yeah, it's hard to deal with nosy questions about when you and the BF plan to "settle down" and when you'll bless the world with genetic replicas. It's hard to get funny looks when you remind them women's rights have not been fully achieved. It's hard to take care of yourself. Big fucking deal. It's hard to be a Heartless Bitch but that's no reason not to do it. I'm nobody's baby and I'm BETTER for it.
