I don't wait for life to happen to me. If I don't like something, I fix it myself.

I'm not entitled to anything I'm not willing to work for. I won't settle for anything less than what I want, and anything I can't get usually turns out to not be worth my time in the first place.

I have enough respect for myself to do whatever it takes to ensure my personal safety, even (and especially) if it's something difficult. For example, when I realized my live-in was an alcoholic and potentially violent, I moved out without warning, refused to speak to him again, and deleted his presumably pathetic, apologetic drunken voice mails without even listening to them. I refuse to get sucked into someone else's drama, let misplaced guilt hold me prisoner, or take responsibility for another person's problems. If you get yourself into a mess, you can get yourself out of it.
