Hey, I've been duped TWICE by sociopaths who are certainly master manipulators. In the last 15 years, however, I learned to spot them at LEAST a mile away and run for the hills when I do. I also warn my friends. I've also resolved all abandonment issues, made my self-esteem healthy, and learned how to stand on my own two feet. It's pretty good insurance for self-defense.

Women are just as bad, and I've culled the manipulators from my list of friends.

I recently heard a statistic that more than 20% of the population is considered to have antisocial personality disorder (sociopathy). Most of them are politicians, but it certainly isn't necessary to name names-- you know who they are.
