Few things irritate me more than people that can't accept and deal with reality. I want to slap the parents who raise their daughters to believe they are princesses to be catered to. Or the ones that raise their sons to believe they are the man of the house. The thought never occurred to me to raise my sons as princes and rulers of MY domain. Thank goodness for those that never bought into that fairy tale book of lies.

We do what must be done in order to survive. We don't sit back and wait for someone to rescue us. Having a significant other to share life's experiences with is nice, but don't count on a happily ever after. Even though I've lived all my life this way, it wasn't until I was widowed at the age of 43, that I rediscovered and appreciated even more my sense of self reliance.

The sooner you face the fact that prince charming is just a man, not some fictional character on a trusty steed sent out to rescue you from real life the better off you will be.
