I'm a Heartless Bitch because I cannot conform myself to someone else's idea of what I should be simply to attract a man. I cannot measure my self-worth by the sort of person I should choose to have a relationship. I cannot do things like refuse to eat in front of a man, giving the appearance that I am somehow more doll-like than I am. Or that heaven forbid, eating in front of a man is somehow vulgar for a woman.

For example, I will not stop wearing my boots because they are not 'girly' enough. I work in labs often, they keep me safe so I don't slip on something and if something should get on them, they will not simply melt away. I walk all over my college campus, they are comfortable to walk in. I cannot trade safety and comfort for someone's eye candy.

To that end, I cannot change who and what I am to satisfy someone else simply because I may be expected to. I only ask for love and respect, not to be set upon a pedestal or kept as a pet.

I also despise magazines like Cosmo and those housekeeping magazines that say things like "Oh! Make a bojillion cupcakes and goodies for your family, but don't you eat or no one will want you!" Why should a woman's worth be measured by how well she cleans a house or how subservient she is to her husband and/or children? It seems beyond absurd.
