Hannah
I think the main reason that I could be classified as a Heartless
Bitch is because I don't adhere to the societal norms for a teenage girl. I'm
expected to be docile, jump into the pants of every guy who looks my way, to be
stick thin, superficial, and have no personality worth mentioning. Well,
obviously I don't see myself as that if I am writing to you.
I am ostracized by the majority for my differences and I am fine with that.
I have a small group of close friends who just are themselves and aren't
brainwashed by the media's and societies projection of what we are "supposed" to
be.
Example: I often go to local punk rock and metal shows that are made up of
the people in the bands, a handful of guys, and a flock of girls who just stand
around in the back and look bored and then try to sleep with the musicians.
These shows often have "mosh-pits" and other forms of dancing, and crowd
participation. I am usually one of the first people to get into the music. Sure,
I get looked at strangely, but I enjoy myself regardless of how the view me.
Quite often, I am the only female who actually has FUN at these things. I enjoy
getting my aggression and stress out in a manor that doesn't seriously harm
anyone, and it brings me closer to my friends in a bizarre way. Do I care that I
get talked about by the aforementioned wannabe groupies? Maybe a little, but
it's more out of pity that their own lives are so un-fulfilling that they have
nothing better to do than talk about me.
