I always tell it like it really is and expect others to do the same. Just because I'm in a wheelchair people don't have to 'dress it up' - I'm a tough cookie and can take criticism. It you don't want to know how you really look in what you're wearing, don't ask me. I only take friends clothes shopping if they're not afraid to tell me I look hideous in what I'm trying on. Don't speak to me like I'm a child and don't ever, ever patronise me, I'm a mature, independent woman. If I upset you tell me I have and don't ever think that towering over me in an aggressive posture will intimidate me, because it won't.

If you want an intelligent conversation, I'm your woman, but if you're looking for someone to whinge at, try your Mum. If you want my help tell me straight out, don't drop hints because I never was any good at catching things. If you find something funny, laugh at it, laughing is good, even if you're laughing at me.
