Eleanor
I'm 17 years old and finishing my last year of high school. The end
is nigh, and I can't wait to graduate, travel and read lots of books. I want to
study psychology at university.
I'm broad minded, and keenly interested in many things. These 'things' do
not include shopping, myspace, reality television, diets, gossip magazines,
physical exertion or polite conversation. If I sound like a snob, it's probably
because I am.
I think objectivity is highly underrated. People (primarily Oprah) get
caught up in the idea that the highest truth is what you feel. It's a concept
that seems to come straight out of a Disney film. I'm talking about "follow your
heart" and all that pap. What about our brains? This mentality is my number one
peeve. I challenge any belief that is reached simply through feeling something
is wrong or right, rather than approaching it rationally.
I want to become an "Official Heartless Bitch" so I can get on the internet
forum. I've been going mad at school, and have decided to do something about it.
Topics of conversation with the girls at school (see above) bring no joy to me,
and the group of intelligent (read: nerdy) guys are very Bitchy - but the in the
petty, self-righteous way. I'm determined no to fall into either category. While
this hasn't stopped me from being honest with my views, it's all a bit tiresome.
Boohoo for me.
So I'm bursting to share ideas, learn, debate, have conversations and ask
lots of questions of the Heartless Bitches on the forum. I'm young, but I'm
mature and quick minded enough to get a lot out of it and not be a pain in the
arse.
