It happened in high school when a guy wrote me a sappy love poem (which never fails to make me gag) about how my "eyes are blue like ocean" (my eyes are brown, Romeo) and continued to pursue me despite the fact I made it clear I was not interested. He began to whine about how Nice Guys (tm) like him are always overlooked and that girls like me always go for the "jerks". It seemed the only way to get him off my back was to unleash my inner-Bitch. From that day onwards I was, and still am, a Heartless Bitch.

At the current age of 20 I'm a university student living in residence. People either love or fear me --I resonate an aura of independence that makes others nervous. Few seem to understand the concept of not needing a partner to feel "whole". Don't get me wrong, I love men and if I meet someone who fits the bill, I would have no problem being in a relationship. I won't settle for anything less and quite frankly, I don't feel I need to. I'm just as happy living on my own as I would be with a partner that meets my standards. Apparently this makes me a cruel woman. So be it. I'm proud to be a Heartless Bitch.
