I'm a Heartless Bitch because I've worked hard to become my own
person and solve my own problems! I've been reading this website since I was
sixteen (so, five years) and truly enjoy learning from more experienced, wiser
Heartless Bitches. I had a crappy childhood (didn't we all?), and I did go
through a victim stage, but you know what? It's so boring to be a victim.
Getting healthy, healing after abuse, getting over victimhood is a CHOICE!
I choose to move on from what has happened to me, to take responsibility for my
own actions and feelings. When I screw up, I learn from it and accept the
consequences, I don't just step aside and say "well, I have XYZ issue because of
xyz."
Another reason that I'm a Heartless Bitch is my participation in Krav
Maga-the Contact Combat style used by the Israeli Defense Forces. It's hard, it
can be painful, but it's really fun, and I've learned to hold my own against
bigger, stronger men (I'm a woman). Excuses are nothing in this sport. I'd
rather be successful and sore than sit on the sidelines and whine.
The best part of being a Heartless Bitch is how happy I am with the life
I've built for myself. I'm on the verge of graduating from college, I live by
myself in a lovely apartment, I've made true friends, and I feel so capable.
Nobody is abusing me, and, with the help of the Red Flag List, I will keep it
that way. I am a happy Heartless Bitch, excited to learn more about the world
(I'm 21, there's plenty to learn!), and life is good.
