Being a Heartless Bitch means being at home with myself, without having to milk my identity off of anyone else. I have officially been de-magnetized, so any labels and slurs you chug at me will slide right off and hide the ground with a dusty, impotent "thump".

It is realizing that waiting with outstretched hands and open palms for someone to hand you power, respect and equality is pointless. Keep waiting Mijo, Life doesn't take orders from anyone, least of all you. It is up to you -which means taking responsibility for your actions and realizing that while bad things may happen to you, you are ultimately in control of your life and all the whining and blame-shifting in the world will never change that.

I'm being a Heartless Bitch when I watch out for the girl waiting for the bus by herself at night. I'm a Heartless Bitch when I give some jerk a nice big black and blue reminder that my body is not his plaything. And I'm a Heartless Bitch when I opt to tell the truth instead of enabling idiotic destructive behavior in those who strive only to complain and never act. You have way to much free time on your hands: try getting a hobby.

Being HB is not only stepping up to the soap box but also stepping down and giving you the chance, and while whatever you say may not get my applause you will get my respect for your voice.
