Well, being male I guess I'm technically a Heartless Bastard. Regardless, I'd like to consider myself an honorary Heartless Bitch.

It was very bracing to find a place where being a "strong" woman doesn't mean "rude," "selfish" or "shamelessly mercenary" - but what it SHOULD mean: honest, blunt and self-reliant.

I cannot stand those pseudo-liberated Daddy's Girls who invoke the mantras of "equality," etc. because they think it sounds good, all the while happily falling back into passivity, dependency and double-standards whenever it suits them.

I also have no patience for my fellow guys who equate sentiments like those seen on HBI with "man-hating." They should drop by and read the rants, quotes, MaleBag, etc. to see that there ARE women who embrace "warts 'n all" equality, who have no gender politics axes to grind and just want to be treated as equal people.

Finally, I'm sick to death of the double-standard wherein behavior that's despicably sexist when coming from men somehow becomes acceptable or even "cute" when women do it. HBI is like kryptonite for that sort of thinking; that's why I like it.
