I consider myself a Heartless Bitch because I am a woman on my own terms.

Since I was very young I questioned the reason for acting what some would term as feminine. I didn't see how acting ditzy, and helpless did anyone any good, and I always hated the double standard with a fiery passion. So I chose to define femininity for myself, and that means I refuse to be a doormat, or the constantly self-sacrificing mother. I refuse to play little games with my spouse to keep him interested, as I have often been advised to do. I refuse to be a good girl or a nice girl for anyone else's sake. I like being in a relationship where I'm treated as an equal, and I want to set an example for my daughter that shows her she can go for what she wants without apologies.

I'm going to be who I want to be even if that rubs a few people the wrong way.
