I have been forming my own opinions for as long as I can remember. I could never understand why this was a problem for people, and still can't. I was all but disowned by one side of my family because they could not make me conform to their idea of a 'proper little girl'. In other words I would not play with dolls or simper over the male members of the family. Not to mention my wanting to pay my own way in life instead of finding a man to kowtow to.

I have made mistakes, like everyone else. I take responsibility for them and clean up my own mess. I find myself increasingly irritated by the victim mentality. I can't stand people telling me I'm 'lucky' to have a good job and marriage. I got here by hard work and refusing to let people walk all over me.

I tell people my honest opinion when asked. I much prefer it when people return the compliment rather than try to tell me what they think I want to hear.
