I was never a girl who was willing to let a man protect me, "Just cause he was stronger". I caught hell for that from my male chauvinistic dad and brothers.
I experience the male-female double-standard early in life, I am the oldest of 3 kids and you would think that I would be depended upon to be the protector and receive the full advantages of being the oldest. But no!! My dad passed me over for my brother. My little brother would be expected to look after me and I was way taller than him. If I was a boy it would be way different. And it lasts up to this day. And I'm wrong if I say anything like, "You know I have common sense too to protect myself if anything happens. I know how to take care of myself, been doing it since I left home." But "Oh no that is not right! You are the female and you are not strong and anything can happen to you!" To hell with that!
My Heartless Bitch qualities come from that experience. I hate men who think in a "boys will be boys" mindset and expect me to control myself when the man can get to do whatever he wants. Don't expect me to dress in a baggy dress so you won't look and whistle and act like a jerk, when there are women who are wearing full Islamic garb in Saudi Arabia getting raped and they are showing nothing but their eyes, hands and feet. Makes me sick. "Wow she is so lusty, look at those feet!!" What the hell?!
