I've never used the "hair flip" to attract people, I've never overplucked anything on my body, I've never lived on lettuce and vinegar, I take action in life and and assume responsibility for the results, and I'm able to laugh at the whole mess. I left steady money in Publishing after 5 years to pursue silversmithing and jewelry making because I did not want to deprive myself of a meaningful creative life for corporate emptiness and a fake sense of success admist endless media parties and sample sales. People snigger about my poverty, long hours, and optimism for my future. I laugh knowing that they're the ones on botox, crippling shoes, and lots of prescribed and self-administered "cope" drugs. I'm a Heartless Bitch because I'm not afraid to live on my own terms despite naysayers and hecklers. I'm an even bigger Heartless Bitch because I don't walk around thinking that just because I practice a basic human right- to live my own life my own way, that someone should give me a medal for it either.
